About the Festival:

Oodua festival (1).png

The Oodua Global Festival is a premier cultural showcase dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich heritage of the Yoruba people. "Oodua" (or Oduduwa) represents the progenitor of the Yoruba race and the symbol of our collective identity. This festival serves as a global stage to connect the diaspora with the sacred traditions of Ile-Ife—the cradle of civilization—through music, art, and direct engagement with the custodians of our culture.

Since his ascension to the throne in 2015, the Ooni has been a global ambassador for peace, unity, and youth empowerment. An astute entrepreneur and philanthropist, his reign is defined by "Cultural Diplomacy," reconnecting the African diaspora with their ancestral roots. His presence at the Oodua Global Festival marks a historic moment for the community in Calgary.
